Seeking to Hire Product Manager

DRPP is seeking a Product Manager for Final Notice, our free, interactive mobile map app exposing climate change, environmental racism, and historical erasure on Brooklyn’s waterfront. Final Notice has been developed through a series of educational programs and partnerships with Red Hook Initiative and El Puente in collaboration with a team of artists, writers, community allies, and technologists. The Product Manager will work with DRPP’s administrative and artistic staff to develop a comprehensive plan for content management, web presence, and app development and deployment slated for September 2021.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage digital resources, identifying needs, and implementing operational plans

  • Translate content to markdown and JSON

  • Communicate and coordinate with local archives for content permissions

  • Coordinate multimedia strategy across social media and web in conjunction with Final Notice  team

  • Scope and prioritize feature development in relationship to grants, performance, and education initiatives

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience as a lead or associate product manager on a consumer-facing app or website

  • Experience managing design and development teams

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with hiring for technical roadmaps or nonprofit projects

  • Passion for environmental justice and anti-racism

 

 

This is a part-time, paid position commensurate with experience. Seeking to Hire React Native Developer

DRPP is seeking a React Native Developer for Final Notice, our free, interactive mobile map app exposing climate change, environmental racism, and historical erasure on Brooklyn’s waterfront. Final Notice has been developed through a series of educational programs and partnerships with Red Hook Initiative and El Puente in collaboration with a team of artists, writers, community allies, and technologists. The React Native Developer will work with DRPP’s administrative and artistic staff. We are relying on this role to provide key direction on the nuts and bolts of implementing, testing and deploying the aforementioned app in React Native.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Building and deploying React Native apps for both iOS and Android.

  • Connecting and configuring a backend service like Google Firebase or equivalent.

  • Setting up a modern testing framework like Jest or equivalent.

  • Navigating the publishing approval process for Google Play and the iOS App Store.

  • Collaborating effectively over a version control solution like Git/Github or equivalent.

 

The ideal candidate with have experience with:

  • Geofencing and proximity-sensitive interfaces

  • Audio and video streams

  • Novel multimedia views

  • Advanced styles or animations

  • Typescript

  • Passion for environmental justice and anti-racism

Seeking to Hire Community Organizer

We are seeking a Community Organizer to join our team at Final Notice, to work with community members and existing organizations in Red Hook and South Williamsburg. Final Notice is a new interactive map app exposing climate change, environmental racism, and historical erasure on the Brooklyn waterfront, explicitly emphasizing neighborhoods with Superfund and Brownfield sites. In Summer 2021, Final Notice will include two S.T.E.A.M. programs at Red Hook Initiative and El Puente, and culminate in an outdoor public performance series on September 25 and 26. The Community Organizer will report directly to the Program Director. The majority of this work will be conducted online, remotely. Responsibilities: 

  • Create and build a network of community members to encourage and support residents’ participation in “Final Notice” activities and events

  • Identify leadership at existing organizations, grassroots initiatives, and elected offices relevant to “Final Notice”

  • Bridge and foster partnerships with leadership at existing organizations, grassroots initiatives, and elected offices to build a professional network for “Final Notice” app development and community events

  • Develop and maintain effective communication between “Final Notice” and the community

  • Assist in development of strategic and tactical advocacy plans

  • Assist in permits and permissions for “Final Notice” outdoor community events

The ideal candidate with have experience with:

  • Interest and/or experience in community organizing, outreach, and/or advocacy; event planning and coordination; 

  • Bachelor's in Communications or related field preferred

  • Passion about combating climate change and environmental racism at a local level

  • Passion about improving the lives of neighborhoods’ residents and their families

  • Must be a team player and have the ability to take the initiative

  • Great organization skills and have a keen sense of detail

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency in Google Drive

  • Bilingual preferred (English and Spanish)

Seeking to Hire Arts Administrator

Danielle Russo Performance Project (DRPP) is expanding its administrative team for its current project, Final Notice, taking place in July - September 2021. DRPP is seeking an Arts Administrator who has experience working in the Community Non-Profit sector, as well. This is a paid, part-time, and predominately remote position. 

Final Notice is a new interactive map app exposing climate change, environmental racism, and historical erasure on the Brooklyn waterfront, explicitly emphasizing neighborhoods with Superfund and Brownfield sites. In Summer 2021, Final Notice will include two S.T.E.A.M. programs at Red Hook Initiative and El Puente, and culminate in an outdoor public performance series on September 25 and 26. The Arts Administrator will report to the Project Director and Lead Administrator, with work ranging from the educational programming to the September production.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in building our professional and community-based networks to encourage and support local participation in Final Notice activities and events;

  • Assist in bridging and fostering partnerships with leadership at existing organizations, grassroots initiatives, and elected offices to build a professional network for Final Notice app development and community events;

  • Develop and maintain effective communication between the Final Notice Creative Team, Partners, and the community-at-large;

  • Assist in development of strategic and tactical advocacy plans;

  • Assist in permits and permissions for Final Notice outdoor community events.


The ideal candidate with have:

  • Experience in production, particularly models for site-specific performance in NYC, with an understanding of current City policies; 

  • Interest and/or experience in arts education, particularly in the Community Non-Profit sector; 

  • Interest and/or experience in community organizing, outreach, and/or advocacy; event planning and coordination; 

  • Passion about combating climate change and environmental racism at a local level;

  • Great organization skills and have a keen sense of detail;

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

  • Proficiency in Google Drive;

  • Bilingual preferred (English and Spanish);

  • Must be a team player and have the ability to take the initiative.


This is a part-time, paid position at $20/hr. We anticipate this work being 10 hours per week.
